Patient's Profile

Ms GX is in her 30s, happily married with a child, and works in finance. She consulted Dr Ivan Puah regarding prospective body contouring and facial enhancement treatments.

Background

Ms GX's history of cosmetic surgeries includes liposuction on her hips and thighs, performed several years ago when she was overseas. She also underwent facial fat grafting, during which fat was harvested from her buttocks. Excessive suction was carried out on the buttock area, which resulted in a "double fold" at the buttock area. These procedures left her with results that she was deeply unsatisfied with. Due to the botched liposuction work, she has no confidence in wearing shorts and bikinis. Ms GX is also concerned about the depression at the forehead due to the messed up fat grafting job.

Consultation & Assessment

Upon examination, several issues were identified:

  • Obvious indentations, unevenness and rippling on both outer thighs.
  • Unevenness and lumpiness at the buttock area, resembling double "banana rolls."
  • A significant depression on her forehead.
  • Hollowness under the eyes

Ms GX shared the psychological toll she had endured due to her bad surgical experiences, stating how she is self-conscious about her legs and face.

Treatment Plan

Fat grafting in Singapore

To address these concerns effectively, autologous fat grafting using a substantial quantity of good-quality fat was deemed necessary. Dr Puah proposed to remove fat from the abdomen and waist via liposuction and transferring the fat to correct the defects in multiple areas, including the buttocks, thighs and face.

While he tries his best to correct the indentations, unevenness and lumpiness, corrective surgery is more complex than her initial surgeries. Hence, it is vital that she understands the pros and cons of the procedure before deciding if she wants to proceed. Managing patient's expectations and safety is always a top priority for Dr Puah.

Ms GX decided to proceed with the corrective surgery, which took place at an accredited Day Surgery Center. A substantial amount of fat was successfully removed from the tummy and love handles and centrifuged to extract the quality fat to be re-transplanted to the areas where needed.

Post-Op Recovery & Results

Ms GX's recovery went uneventfully. She was initially concerned about the swelling, which subsided gradually as the body healed. Her postpartum belly was flattened, and her waist was well-shaped and contoured. Facial grafting results had settled nicely.
