Ms H, a mom and finance professional in her mid-40s, is concerned about her postpartum round abdomen and waistline fat.
Background
Ms H leads a busy life that requires her to meet clients and give presentations regularly. Confidence is critical in her line of work, and she believes in maintaining a polished appearance.
Previously, Ms H underwent facial liposuction with Dr Ivan Puah to remove her double chin, and she was very satisfied with the results.

Ms H again turned to Dr Puah, this time seeking liposuction for her abdomen and waist.
Consultation & Assessment
During the consultation, Dr Puah assessed Ms H's abdominal area and noted a moderate degree of loose skin and stretch marks, common issues faced by many postpartum women. He also identified a significant amount of pinchable subcutaneous fat on her tummy and waist.
Ms H's concerns were typical of post-pregnancy changes — fat that accumulates in the midsection and remains resistant to diet and exercise. Treatment Plan
The 360-Degree Liposuction Method: Flattening the Tummy and Contouring the Waist
Ms H's liposuction was scheduled at an accredited Day Surgery Center. Before the surgery, she gave informed consent with the targeted areas marked out. An anaesthetist was present throughout the surgery to care for Ms H and monitor her vital signs.
Dr Ivan Puah carried out a 360-degree liposuction method to target fat in all areas of the abdomen and waist, removing stubborn pockets of fat from multiple angles to create a smooth and natural result.
For Ms H, the goal was to flatten her tummy and sculpt her waistline, creating a more proportionate and curvaceous figure. This method would significantly reduce the fat and improve the overall shape of her body, it would also help to tighten the skin to improve the appearance of stretch marks to a certain degree. This approach would ensure that the results were both aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting. The surgery went smoothly. The treated areas were dressed with thick surgical dressings after closing the incisions.
Ms H was then transferred to the recovery bay to rest before being discharged home to rest.
Post-Op Recovery & Results
Stitches were removed ten days post-surgery. Ms H reported feeling sore and "muscle aching" sensation in the first couple of days following the liposuction, but it gradually dissipated. There was noticeable swelling and minimal bruising. Her recovery went well, and she was diligent in using the surgical compression garment.
Three months post-op, on her last review, comparing before and after photos taken, her tummy and waist appeared significantly more sculpted. The 360-degree liposuction approach not only flattened her abdomen but also gave her the hourglass figure that she wanted.
