Can your belly get big again after liposuction?
Liposuction is a fat removal procedure that targets and removes subcutaneous fat (pinchable fat). It does not treat visceral fat. If you do not have an active lifestyle, such as exercise and maintaining a healthy weight, there is always a probability of fat gain, which will affect the visceral fat mass and your post-lipo results.

How long will liposuction result last?
Liposuction involves the removal of unwanted fat via suction and correcting disproportionate body shape. Fat is permanently removed from the treated area and is long-lasting if the patient maintains a healthy diet and active lifestyle. It is important to note that a considerable amount of weight gain post-liposuction may alter the results.
How much fat does lipo remove?
The amount of fat that can be removed will depend on the patient's clinical condition and the body regions treated. In Singapore, liposuction is strictly regulated by the Ministry of Health Singapore and the amount of aspirated fat is limited to 2 litres per session, amongst other patient criteria.
Is liposuction suitable for weight loss?
No, liposuction is not a tool or method for treating weight loss. It is a surgical procedure to reduce and remove unwanted and stubborn fat that does not respond to diet, exercise or other means. If your objective is to lose weight, you may consider Amaris B. weight loss and management programme.
Can I use Medisave or insurance for liposuction?
Liposuction is an elective cosmetic surgery and is therefore not covered by Medisave or insurance.

Liposuction costs in Singapore vary depending on the liposuction doctor's experience, the complexity of the surgery, body regions, facility costs, anaesthetist fees, consumables, medications, surgical instruments, aftercare and follow-up treatments, etc.
I have had liposuction done before; can I do it again?
Yes, certainly. Some patients have had liposuction done with satisfactory results. However, they may have gained massive weight or cannot maintain their post-liposuction results due to ageing or certain medical conditions. Secondary liposuction is an option to correct and improve the treated area.
